Clues for Your Hike
- Park in the wide parking area directly off Route 192 facing Halfway Lake.
- Go down the steps and start on the Lakeside Trail, turning left and following the path around the lake.
- Turn right to cross over the stream and bridge.
- At the sign for Rapid Run Nature Trail, turn left and head into the wooded area.
- At the first intersection, go straight and follow the sign to the Overlook Trail.
- At the next intersection, stay straight and slightly to the right, continuing to follow the arrows toward the Overlook Trail.
- Carefully cross the road; when you re-enter on the Overlook Trail, you will start going uphill on switchbacks.
- Follow the yellow blazes on the trees as you make your way uphill.
- At the top of the overlook, find the post and enjoy the view. Return the same way you came, heading down the switchbacks on the Overlook Trail.
- When you exit the trail and see the lake and beach, turn right to cross over the bridge and then left as you follow the Lakeside Trail back to your vehicle.
