Thank you for joining us for the 2nd year of Get Outdoors (GO) Union! This summer program, brought to you each year by WellSpan Health, and The Union County Library System, encourages children and their families to get outdoors and get moving as they explore Union County. This year’s theme — GO and Discover the Past! — will give you fun ways to learn about tools to dig up ancient treasures, industries that shaped our history, and even a few dinosaurs!
Thirteen “site markers” — wooden posts with an etching plate attached — have been hidden in local and state parks and sites around Union County. The Ledger contains clues to follow as you hike to find the post at each location. Follow these simple steps for getting what you need to participate in Get Outdoors (GO)! Visit your local library to register, receive materials, and find out about all of the programs they have planned for you and your family this summer!

Find Your Library
Look through your Ledger to choose the site marker you want to find, or browse through the hikes online here.
Follow the driving directions that will take you to the parking area to begin your site marker hike.
Follow the clues on each site marker page to find the starting point for the hike and where you can find the post.
At the post, use a crayon or pencil to fill in the space on your rubbing sheet. Don't forget to copy the 4-digit code – you'll need it later!
Each hike includes directions to get back to your vehicle. Take any trash with you to keep things neat and tidy!
